The project involved design of interiors for student and faculty residences at the Jio Institute at Ulwe. The already constructed building meant for the multi-services sector was available and was to be used for creating housing. Creating residential spaces meant creating smaller spaces with multiple toilet facilities at all levels. Our design efforts were focused on resolving the challenges of integrating services in an innovative manner to accommodate this major change in use. The total area available for design was approximately 1,68,000 sq.ft. The design involved housing 208 single occupancy rooms and 15 faculty sites including dining facilities, recreational and social spaces on all floors.
